SmartExam ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect limited information necessary to provide you with exam preparation and AI analysis services.

a. Account Information (via Third-Party Auth)

We do not manage passwords. You log in using your Apple or Google account. We receive only basic public profile information, such as:

• Email address
• Full Name (if provided)
• Avatar/Profile Picture URL

b. Usage and Learning Data

To generate your Knowledge Reports, we store:

• Quiz scores and completion dates.
• Generated analysis summaries, identified weak areas, and study suggestions.
• Note: We do not permanently store the specific text of every question you answer; we focus on the analytical outcome to track your progress.

c. Transaction Data

• We track your purchase history (e.g., "Exam Prep for CSC Vol 1") to unlock content.
• We do not process or store credit card numbers. All financial transactions are handled securely by Apple's App Store via StoreKit.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Service Provision: To unlock exam content and sync your progress across devices.
• AI Analysis: We use OpenAI's API to analyze your quiz performance. We send anonymized data (question topics and your answers) to generate study suggestions.
• App Improvement: To understand which exams are most popular (e.g., click counts) and improve app performance.

3. Third-Party Services

We utilize trusted third-party services to operate SmartExam:

• Supabase: For secure database hosting, authentication, and backend server functions (Edge Functions).
• OpenAI: For generating the "Knowledge Report" and study suggestions.
• Apple & Google: For secure authentication and payment processing.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• Retention: We retain your learning history and account data as long as your account is active to allow you to track your progress.
• Deletion: You have the right to delete your account at any time. This option is available directly in the app under Profile › Delete Account.
  • What happens: When you request deletion, our system immediately removes your user profile, learning history, and purchase records from our database. This action is irreversible.

5. Children's Privacy

SmartExam is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
